The term refers to an immensely condensed accretion of matter.
The gravitational field of units of matter is inversely proportional to the distance between the units.
For accretions of matter the resultant field can be approximated using the distance between the centers of the accretions.
Because of the immense density of accretions referred to as black holes, small bicentric distances are possible leading to large gravitational forces. This is the only difference between accretions referred to as black holes and other accretions.
