Thats right they are portrayed as eminating from the accretion disk , ask yourself this , how can so much material originate from an accretion disk yet it remains with almost all its mass , you could say that it is replenished by the next line of star material , I would accept this as argument if the blackhole was without momentum , but as they are supposed to spin to allow for the magnetic fields then the spin combined with the event horizon means that the mass ejection of material is far greater than the pull of material from the event horizon .
