In the Einstein experiment, as you describe it, the observer could not tell if he was moving or at rest. Comparison of the force vectors that attract him to the floor at various points in the elevator would would allow him to make that distinction. If the vectors are all parallel, the force is due to acceleration. If the vectors are concentric, the force is gravity. |
