If there was a continuous rod of mass that went to infinity in two opposite directions.
Then there would no way of determining where the center of mass or the center of gravity was.
This indicates that any continuous mass distribution which is consistent in two coordinates and varies with the third coordinate will cause a parallel gravity force vector.

This of course does not match the condition of the universal mass distribution, therefore I withdraw my suggestion....
