You Have Incorrect Assumptions

The greater light in the atmosphere it is not in space and therefore is not the sun. It is a light to disern times and seasons. If it were the sun then it would have said sun. They did have a word for sun when the text was written.

Light was created on day three. It does not say if it is the sun or light from another source.

If you assign the greater light is the sun how would you have the first day when the greater light is created on day four?

I think you are greatley mistaken if you think the greater light is the sun.

I also do not think this is an error.
Even a second grader could see your point and Moses was well educated of his day.
