I have a 10-inch LX200 GPS. I've attached a Meade ETX-90 as a guide scope, and at times instead a Megrez 80mm refractor for photography, with a dovetail ring set, counterweights, and a camera. (I use the Bonney Lakes Astroworks ring-rail set and counterweights.) As long as I balance the counterweights properly, there's been no trouble with the drive train. You might want to use an external 12-volt battery. With lots of weight, running on the 8 C batteries stored internally doesn't work as well for high-speed slewing (though it does work).
