I bought my jump start battery at Sam's Club. It comes with 2 lighter sockets.

I used NiMH cells a couple times. They just don't last, even without much slewing. After an hour or two, the AutoStar II gets flakey because of low voltage.

You should not run the scope and any other accessories off the same battery, even the jumpstart batteries. Same with a CCD camera or autoguider. They need a separate supply.

The LX200GPS is voltage sensitive. My SBIG STV is even more sensitive.

If you run multiple devices, you can get some weird effects with the AutoStar II, etc. Especially after a couple hours of use.
