Balancing Question?????

Thanx all for the input re-weight distribution. With my LX90, using the Meade balance weights I can get the scope perfectly balanced with say the OTA level with the horizon. But if I then tilt the scope up to say 45 degrees above horizon the scope wants to drop back to level with the horizon again. This has to be putting a strain on the drive. My idea of balance means that if I unlock RA and DEC locks I should be able to point the scope up to any angle and it should stay there, ie balanced. I've looked at a few sites on line and have balanced as per their wisdom but still I cant get the scope to sit at any angle without the scope wanting to swing down to level. I'm interested to hear what you guys are doing and how you balance and what you look for when you balance.

Cheers
