A Bad Idea

It is a really bad idea to hang weight from the microfocuser.

You are inviting the microfocuser to develop lots of flexure over time.

It is not designed to be a weight-bearing lever.

If you're going to invest thousands in the scope, buy counterweights that are engineered for the scope. Save a few dollars on other accessories. You'll get more years of use out of the scope.
