I'm not even going to pick apart your evaluation.

Just so you know, I am not someone who regularly runs around trying to disprove everything, I'm just pointing out what the most likely explanation is.

John Day, OR is just a few miles outside the reserved airspace of a US Air Force base in Idaho. Although David expressed that they do not get much air traffic there, it's likely that what he saw was a military aircraft coming in low and moving at just under supersonic speeds preparing to make a training run.
