Richard, should I explain here how light from your flaslight falls on the ground with the same acceleration 9.8 m/sec^2 as anything else and why you do not see it?

Ok, lets go back to basics. Suppose, you direct you flashlight horisontally. Photons (or waves - does not matter) leaving the bulb immediately start falling down in full agreement with the equation h=gt^2/2.

So in 1 nanosecond (1 foot from the flashlight) they will be 4.9x10^-18 m below horizontal, in 1 microsecond (984 ft from your flashlight) they will fall 4.9x10^-12 m down from horizontal, in 1 millisecond (186.3 miles away) photons will be 4.9x10^-6 m down and so on. Called parabolic trajectory.

Why you did not notice light bending down from your flashlight? I dunno, may be you have to look closer?
