It's Embarrasing When A Scientist Becomes A Believer.

It is embarrassing to the rest of the scientific community when a well-trained scientist gives up his scientific training to teach pseudoscientific or religious ideas.

It embarrasses me that it took me so long to "see the light", meaning atheism. I've been working on understanding why it took me so long, when most atheists probably make that worldview change in their late teens or early twenties.

I know of a few people who have given up scientific ideas (like evolution) later in their lives to embrace religion. I'm very curious to understand the mental gymnastics that made that possible. Perhaps this forum can help me better understand.
