Before they eat us?..or after?

Look at the number of species on this planet. (Past and present creatures)

I read somewhere about the structure of DNA finding a planet with life may not be suitable for us.
The article went on to say that Earth's DNA is structured to the right(..or to the left, I forget now) may find a planet teaming with life, like aple trees. But..if the planet's DNA is stuctured the opposite side..we wouldn't be able to digest it's food, no matter how appetizing.
