Hell is separation from God. So, an equivalent question would be, why does separation from God exist? Man`s sin nature, in of itself, will lead to separation from God. A man is born unaware of his corrupt state, it is only when the Light of Christ illuminates his life, that he becomes aware of the need for His Redemptive Blood. In the end, a man who desires separation from God, is granted his wish.
