The topic of this thread is inspired by the thread "Is modifying the human chromosomes playing God?"

I think, our overall desire, as human beings is to simply understand ourselves. Of course, we complicate things along the way in my opinion, but I think we just want to understand.

Now, in the course of learning, side tracked by curiosity and emotion (driven by free will), we make stops along the way, to build on discoveries (tangents) and go from there.

Any thoughts?
