That many atheists are pro-life (myself included.)

I consider it a matter of potential. Though a fertilized egg has no more consciousness or degree of existence greater than that of any single-celled organism, the main issue as I see it is that it has the potential to become something greater.

However, I think the issue is a purely human one. Bear in mind that sperm cells are living things as well, each one with the potential to one day produce a human. If you've ever... liberated any, by the same reasoning that I gave for my pro-life status, you have just committed pre-infanticide.

By the way, Phillip, I think I owe you a reply from way back when. :) Just a sec.
