I think the Black Sea flood IS the flood in Gilgamesh and in the Bible...with some other stories possibly for color.
Some rain would occur as a matter of regular weather, and when it did along with the water rise of 5-7 feet per week totalling 400 feet rise this would seem quite an event.
the Bible does not have to be exactly all accurate to be respected greatly.
I think its rules include some of the original rules of prehistoric and preliterate humans too.
Some are pragmatic and some merely serve the political interests of the leaders of any ape or human dominance hierarchy political system.
