I learned math and physics in communist Russia, so it was not God (like it is in the West) who put knowledge into my head, it were good math/physics teachers plus tons and tons of homework (another difference between education systems).

Plus long research experience (where you learn "the hard way" - doing tons of errors while mother Nature (unlike God) does not put even a single clue DIRECTLY into your head - rather YOU blindly try different experiments to painfully fetch information in it (Nature) bit by bit.
