Without getting into detail concerning the DS series from Meade I will say having a 60mm (2.4") refractor will greatly limit on what you can see compared to a larger aperture (lens diameter) scope. This is what I know you'll be able to see. Jupiter and Saturn and the moon will be your best targets as of right now. Other planets would be Venus and Mercury. Mars is a little hard to view right now, but when it is viewable, you should have no problem seeing it. As for deep sky objects; you will be greatly limited. However, there are a few things to see. M42 Orion Nebula, M31 Andromeda galaxy, Double Cluster in Perseus, The Pleiades M45 just to name a few. Your question on terms of seeing for the size of scope you have.....excluding planets and the moon, like I said ......very limited. Good Luck and clear skies! |
