Wow - your explanation helps me to grasp the concept, and I didn't know there was so much already written about it. I WILL read up on it, as this stuff intrigues me to no end.

But what keeps the strings moving - is it really gravity?

I find it strange that gravity is the weakest of the four forces, and yet it always seems to put a "dent" in former theories. =) Ty!
