To Mohammed Isa Mirsiam: It's not unimaginable that we should have no purpose for our existence other than to live and die. If you believe there's another purpose, ok, I support that, belief is good... but don't make the mistake of thinking it's the only way to see things.

To rggarfinkle: I'm responding to a relatively small point in your post. Reasons are not things. The word "reason" is a noun, but they are not actually existant objects. I'm not sure a reason can exist without someone to think it up, but that's a separate argument. They point is you can't make nothingness somethingness by sticking a reason into it, because a reason is not a thing and thus doesn't belong in the category of "anything".
