Storm, saying that chimps were something other than chimps at some point in the past, based simply on dogmatic adherence to Darwinism, is no different than me saying God made them that way.

Quantum leaps are no freinds of Darwin, of course niether is molecular biology or the fossil record, either of which should provides ample evidence [actually lack of] to dispatch Darwin's theory into extinction.

But this will never happen.

Mostly, because evolutionary theory has a certain "logic" to it. It is not really logic, but rather, a seduction of the mind. It's proponents think that it just "had" to have happened that way--there simply is no other explanation.

That is why, when some fragment of evidence is found that supposedly supports the theory is found [like the almost daily bird-dino link] it is trumped as the final answer or what-ever. The problem of course, is not the similar traits, but the mechanism that produced it.

For example, changing scales into feathers requires a quantum-leap in genetic information change. Were there millions of generations of "proto-flappers" who were neither good dinos or birds? And what possible adaptive advantage would such a creature have?

On the bio-molecular level, where is the extant machanism that is capable of producing this amount of novel [new to the biosphere] genetic information. Remember, if Darwin was right, feathers were "new" at some point and presumably had to occur from pre-existent scales. Another quantum-leap in spite of the fact mutations are rarely [if ever] information producing.
