People do have free-will because they have the ability to tell right from wrong, from the ability to reason. People have the choice to knowingly either commit a crime knowing it's wrong, or chose not to. If people had not free-will, the government has no reason to take people to prison after they commit a crime, if people had no choice to commit their crimes. Free-will means having choices, and knowing that they are good choices and bad choices. If you commit a bad choice in society, you go to jail. Free-Will is not that controversial, so I don't see why it's even debated. It is a known fact that people have choices and that they know right from wrong. Thats considereing the person is normal in the brain.

Also, I have seen television reports of those people that enjoy pain, and some where asked if they had pleasure from pain, or if it hurt. They answered that it hurt like heck, but they just like doing it and have pleasure of it hurting. It's very complicated indeed, but even the creating of the Atomic Bomb supports the theory of free will. USA was faced with some choices, It either made and used the Atomic bomb against japan to save hundreds of thousands of lives, or send American soldiers to their deaths. Any ability to reason would of just sent troops to fight like if they were robots, without thinking, but because reasoning was involved, The choice to save more lives from both Japan and USA was chosen.
