I think Alexander was trying to tell us that when people don't understand something, they make it understandable, even though it may be wrong. Refering to how Greeks thought that thunderbolts happened when the gods were angry, but the truth being electricity.

So Alexander, are you saying there is no creator at all? I have pondered this question all my life, and still am, but I have reason to believe there is one. Just curious why you believe what you do.
