Alexander,

It matters very much to me if a group of physicists are mistaking religious beliefs or philosophical beliefs for science. Platonism is the correct name for this belief, so I prefer to stick with it in case others jump in and are bewildered by us making up our own words. In any case, platonism is a metaphysical belief and I would say that many physicists don't believe it (and of course many do). The issue is not what physicists believe about metaphysical subjects, the issue is what view provides the more consistent view of the universe and why. This issue requires the philosophical and scientific issues to be thoroughly reviewed.

Best Regards, Harv
