MAJOR SIGN: CAPRICORNUS, THE GOAT: Lev. 16:7-9, 15-16. Cap is a sea goat (half goat, half fish). The goat is in a fallen position, one leg doubled under his body, the head bent forward as he's dying. The tail is vigorously alive. Christ brings forth from death life for His church, referred to in the bible as 'fishes'. Heb. name for this sign is Gedi ("A kid; a goat"; also, 'The Cut Off'). Major *'s: al Gedi=the Kid; Deneh al Gedi='The sacrifice cometh'; Ma-Asad='the slaying'. Lev. 10:16,17; Lev 16. He was made a goat for us, as the outcast one, bearing the world's sin. On the cross, he was the lamb sacrificed as a sin covering. The goad dying brought life to the fish (and we are 'fishers of men'). The fish die with the goat, as he lives with them. DECANS: SAGITTA, THE ARROW: Appears naked and alone, archer unseen. Christ having experienced the infinite anger of God against sin, the arrow of God's wrath sticking fast in His heart (Ps 38:2). AGUILA, THE EAGLE (the pierced, wounded, and fallen eagle). Brightest star (used by sailors for longitude), 'Al Tair' (Arabic)='The Wounding". Other *'s: Tarared (Heb) "the wounded'. 'Al Cair'='The Piercing". in eagle's tail 'Al Okab'='Wounded in the Heel'. An eagle is the royal, natural enemy of the serpent. Known to tear itself to feed its young its own blood in absence of food. Exodus 19:4; Deut 32:11-12. DOLPHINUS, THE DOLPHIN: Psalm 42:7. He plunged into the very waves of death. Ancient mysths recognize the dolphin as the most sacred and honored of 'fish'.
