Mike:

Christianity is much broader than the Bible itself. The gospel message is a bit of everything: Scripture, community, reality. And for readers of the Bible, the word of God is not just in the Bible; it is also in the community and in ones real-life station. Hence, the function of the Bible, read in a community context, is to help people to discover where God is calling them in the hubbub of real life. My point is that indeed the Christianity does evolve, and it does so continually.
