I disagree that people will be kept in the dark about genetic freaks. I expect it will be more like the medicines of today which warn of possible side effects compared with the cure-all snake oils of the past.

As people become more scientifically-minded, I expect governments will become more open, not more secretive, as they realize that the public won't over react and form violent mobs as much as they have in the past.

Clinton wasn't as worried about revealing his sexual activities as former presidents would have been because he knew that our modern American society is more open about such things than past Americans. The Europeans are even more "advanced" in this regard. Many of them could not figure out why it was an issue at all. In the future I forsee these kinds of things being even less important in politics.
