It seems that nations with a single strong religion are apt to be more secretive. But there are factors like the education of the citizens that probably overwhelm any direct comparison.

An interesting test case would be the comparison of relative secrecy in Norway and Sweden. Here the greatest difference between the two peoples seems to be that Norway is very religious, so I understand, and Sweden is not. My father grew up in Sweden and I can vouch for its atheism. Swedes are very faithful atheists. Both are well educated. Does anyone know which of the two governments is more secret?
