Here are several reasons that the Dinosaurs may have become extinct which are just as likely as a natural disaster.

Egg laying animals are easily eliminated because their eggs are an easy food source.

It is possible the some form of intelligent life existed which would have eliminated anything as dangerous as a dinosaur. We would have. All you have to do is break a few eggs.

Large animals must also be fewer in number due to the limitations of food and if a disease develops the chances that enough of them survive to continue the species is less likely.

I am curious as to why you think that the Earth is the only inhabitable planet?

Is that a logical determination or a gut feeling thing?
