According to Science Earth is about 5 billion years old, proven by scientific methods. Writers of Vedic scriptures estimate Brahma's day (which we presume the age of Earth) 4.5 billion years which is close to scientific estimate. I have read old testament and new testament, and I see those writers estimted Earths beginning about 6 billion years ago, which is right in the ball park of Vedic and scientific estimate. But the trouble is whoever interpreted the bible had no knowledge of zero and wrongly put earths age as 6000 years. On the other hand the writers of Vedic scriptures had this knowledge and had no trouble writing and interpreting the big numbers like billions and trillions. They also put Brahma's life span(presumably life of the universe) as 157 trillion years!!! The followers of Bible should not bury their heads in sand and should ask question whenever in doubt and this way truth is revealed and repect for religious increases. One Presidential candidate said right on television interview that he beieved earth was only 6000 yers old!!!!
