What will happen to your theory when we discover extra-terrestial life (it will happen by the way), or when we discover the mathematical law which shows how the universe came into being? Your theory will have to be changed to fit the new facts. The scientific method, however, will remain the same. And also, I don't see how being scientifically minded makes one not able to enjoy the goodness of life. All science does is uncover and defend the truth, how that makes life ungood is beyond me.
