That's a funny one.

Alan,

In a perfect world, where people have only good in their hearts and wisdom in their minds, your arguments would make a lot of sense. In the real world, however, things are different. Sometimes we are tough on others out of love, not because we think being tough is right, but simply because we don't know what else to do.

Also, in the real world you have to kill in order to survive. Perhaps not kill people, but you need to kill animals or plants. Morality is a paradox we manage to avoid by partially hiding the truth. Again, it's probably not right, but we don't know what else to do.

Hopefully God understands our limitations and will pardon our sins.
