Hi Richard,
***I am a materialistic monist who believes that earth is physical, heaven is dark matter, and that consciousness consists of both components, based on an axion theory of dark matter.***
Yes, I've heard you say that before. I am an interactionist dualist who believes that the earth is physical, heaven is hyperdimensional, and that consciousness is the fundamental constituent of reality that is separate from both.
Read "The Conscious Mind: In Search of a Fundamental Theory" by David J. Chalmers and see if you can still hang on to your materialism. If you can, my guess would be that you didn't pay attention as you read.
***Its all physics, and maybe mathematics; but it manisfests elements that are best understood in the approximation of idealism. ***
The physical manifolds (our 4D space-time continuum and those of higher dimensionality) are nearly all governed by physics (there is wiggle room in our manifold due to quantum indeterminacy, and probably some kind of similar wiggle room in higher dimensional manifolds as well). Mathematics is strictly a mental concept and as such is not part of the physical world. It exists only as a concept in consciousness. Physical reality is manifest exactly and only as concepts in the fundamental consciousness.
Just trying to sound as authorative as you to keep things fair and balanced.
Warm regards,
Paul |
