Richard,

I'm always interested in speculations. I can't tell if they are far-fetched, it seems to me that until the brain's architecture is better understood that we should keep as open a mind as possible. Right now I would lean to advanced neural architectures to explain the ability of the brain to engage in thought, but it might be that our physics is not nearly complete to understand the brain. Let's see where the research actually takes us...
