Why Would A High School Test Their Students' IQs?

Chris,

Congratulations on the IQ!

Proctors, psychometrists, whatnot don't come cheap, and children's IQs are usually measured when they're quite young, or if they're marginally "normal" (75-ish) and need to be tested every couple/few years (depending on state) to justify remaining in the school system's mainstream. I'm genuinely curious why it is your high school forked out the dough to test your IQ.
