Uh huh...

If you're not concerned about its truth, then you really don't have any right to call it meaningless. If it's true, it has some meaning (bearing on the outside world.) Who cares whether or not it answers any deep questions? It's not supposed to, evolution doesn't deal with meaning or origins, that is an entirely different matter. That's like blaming a car for not being able to fly.
