Here is what is generally accepted by a majority of scientists (who are scattered about the world and have many different religious beliefs):

1) The universe is roughly 15 billion years old.

2) Evolution happened and is still happening.

3) There was no world-wide flood.

4) The world is older than 6000 years.

While these are extremely general statements, what I am trying to get across is that the scientific community finds that the evidence points in the direction of these statements.

While others have proposed theories that these statements are false the evidence doesn't bear them out.

If the evidence did bear out christian beliefs then the scientific community would accept them.

If the evidence did bear out african bush tribesman beliefs then the scientific community would accept them.

If the evidence did bear out native american beliefs then the scientific community would accept them.
