is that radar studies of the width of the Saravati River (now dried up) can determine the age of the river as a function of its width. This age can then be correlated with references to its width in ancient Hindu scripture such as the Rig Veda.

The conclusion of these studies is that the Rig Veda is at least 8,000 years old and native to India.

The previous story of where the Rig Veda and other ancient Hindu scripture came from was that the Aryans brought it with them when they conquerted India and instituted a fourfold class structure with the natives at the bottom.

The suggestion of the researchers is that when the Aryans conquered India, they abolished books and claimed the religion for themselves, piutting themselves at the top.

When the British conquered India, the British reinforced the class structure because it made it easier for them to rule and it diminuished the ego of the Indians. I read this someplace, but cannot remember where.

But note that the age of the Rig Veda is consistent with the Jewish age of the world, about 8,000 years. The only inconsistency is that the Garden of Eden must have been in India. Afterall the bible does say that Abraham came from the east- maybe from India. Also it is claimed that Jesus lived with the Essenes for most of his adult life where he learned the practices of eastern religions. So perhaps Hinduism is the first and truest religion, that is if you adhere to fundamentalism of the ancients.

Regards,

Richard
