The genesis story of creation got evolution almost right. No other religion as far as I know even offers a clue. Of course, that was Judiaism wasn't it. The 6,000 year story was Jewish. Does that also make it Christian?

Note that the 6 days that preceeded the 6,000 years must be interpreted as millions to billions of years each to get evolution right.

So back to square one, why Christianity over any othe religion?

Peace. That is the reason. Christianity preaches peace and provides the means to achieve it: "Love thy enemy", which is perhaps the only new commandment offered by Jesus that goes beyond the 613 of Moses. Love thy enemy is the only way this planet can survive the nuclear crisis where we, the human race, now has the ability to commit suicide.

Islam, and Hinduism (see the Bagavata Gita) both support aggression. In Islam you may conquer nations for conversion. In Hinduism you fight just because it is the thing to do, like carrying out your fate and responsibility to fight.

Buddhism and Jainism are other basically nonviolent, peaceful religions where all life is loved.

Regards,

Richard
