The Communists failed so miserably because their entire system was foolhardy. One excellent example is the story of Lysenko and Stalin.

USSR Agriculture suffered enormously because its system allowed its leader to believe Lysenko. Many folks consider this to be a major contributing factor to the eventual demise of the Soviet Union, whose agriculture suffered for nearly 30 years because of two ignorant men.

In the U.S.A., no one can dictate what the law will be. Our system is much wiser than the USSR's was.
