Math is a logic, and logic rules universe, thus math rules universe as we see by all facts.

Also, Harvey, you speak about life and consciouseness as if we still live in 18 century (vitalism, etc.). Wake up, open any biology textbook and learn about chemistry of cells and how proteins do all the work in it, membrane electric potentials and cell-to-cell propagation, exitation/de-exitation of neurons, etc. In Europe vitalism is dead for couple of centuries. If some US texts claim it to still be alive - then I am very sorry for such texts (and pop literature) - they are a couple centuries behind. (Well, pop literature is strictly business - they'll print anything uneducated publics buys. Demand and supply, you know. Even some universities teach vitalism, gods, Santas, etc - they also more in making money business rather than in education.
