I Have No Problem With Abandoning Jargon

Lots of people are guilty of such things. I grade papers for an astronomy course at my college. One of the assignments was to plan a mission to Jupiter. One group included a gamma ray spectrometer. However, from their paper, I got the distinct impression they had no idea what a gamma ray spectrometer did.

So in short, if you're going to use big words, know what they mean.
