"Phlogiston" is a good example of informania in science, Wandaru. In the late 1700s, Lavoisier showed the word being used to explain many phenomena, "phlogiston," was _not an increase in information but an informational placebo.... though it may also have served as a placeholder, such as x and y do in an algebra problem when we're still gathering information. We can only tolerate so many placebos in our therapy before it starts plugging up the works?
