Has anyone ever heard of, or know anything about the Springfield mount?

All I know is that, with a special 'scope, the observer sat in one place while the telescope moved. The eyepiece was stationary. I believe it was an equatorial mount.

I've been trying to find info on this (plans, photos, etc.) for years. I think there was a connection with Dobbins telescopes, but I can't verify that.
