And would look spherical fom any angle. Whereas others are spiral. So there are at least two galaxies in a very closed universe. Then there is the problem of different numbers of stars in what you call 'reflected' galaxies.

Well, not exactly reflections but images of the same galaxies from light going around the very closed universe two and/or many more times. If the closed universe is expanding, then the many loops add up to linear expansion.

So the thing that really makes the universe very large rather than very closed is that the very distant galaxies (actually quasars) are residing from us at an accelerated rate. This could not be so if they were multiple images of the one or two galaxies. . QED
