The remote observer reckons the speed of all objects, even light, to approach the limit 0 as the object approaches the event horizon.

dr/dt=(1-2M/r)(2M/r)1/2 (Note: as r->2M dr/dt->0)

The remote observer reckons the distance to the event horizon to be infinite

drshell=dr/(1-2M/r)1/2

and that all objects never reach the event horizon in a finite amount of time.

The local observer measures the speed of an object

drshell/dtshell= - (2M/r)1/2 (Note: as r->2M drshell/dtshell-> |1| which is speed as a fraction of c


v/c=1
v=c
