RE: >> In the Old testament there are many sons of god.
Agreed. The Bible uses this phrase in more than one context.
In Genesis 6 it simply represents all men, in another context it represents those that believe every word of God (true followers of the law of Moses) and in another context it represents the new relationship entered into by those who continue to believe every word of God by believing in Jesus Christ as the One and only way of salvation – trusting only in what Jesus did on the cross to pay for their sins.
RE:>> In the New Testament peacemakers and those who love thy enemy are sons of god.
Not exactly, but close.
In the new Testament only those who have received the Holy Spirit through believing in the only begotten Son of God as their personal Saviour.
RE: >> I do not think that makes them all gods.
Agreed. Context matters. There is only One Son of God that is God and no other sons of God are gods. There is only One God.
RE:>> There re just sons of god and accorded a prominent palce with god just as the Lamb of god is.
I disagree. No man, but Jesus, who was fully man and fully God, is afforded the prominence of the Lamb of God that was given to us. At the knee of Jesus every knee shall bow. Whether in humbleness of victory in Him, or in defeat and banishment to everlasting torment.
May the Lord of Peace bring you wisdom and spiritual understanding in His love.
May God bless these United States of America for the freedom we have to speak the truth in love. |
