12 Or 5 Micron Grit As Polish...

Bob...and Optics...thanks for the suggestions.

Question about using a grit as polish. If I was to start with 12 or 5 micron and a pitch lap, how in the world would I clean the lap? I would think that the soft surface would hold the grit and never let it go.

As for the original problem, my strokes have been long (probably 3-5 inches and a good 2 to 3 inch overhang. I have been using a liquid solution since my first attempt. I have actually given up on the 5 micron. I am going from 12 to 9 then I will start my polishing.

One last question. To get rid of the current issue. Should I continue with 12 or should I run back to 25 or even 320?

Thanks,
Dave
