I think it is possible that there was bacteria on Mars. But, we cannot just drop some nukes over the poles and make a forest. We would first have to thicken the atmosphere so that the heat could be kept in. After this was done, assuming the atmosphere didn't leak out in to space from a low gravity, then we could colonise without living sealed buildings. Overall, I do think we will eventually change the atmosphere of mars enough to start truelly colonizing it. And as far as the space technology goes, We could already get there if any government wanted to spend the amount of time and money it would take. |
